The Great Walk for Our Community Cats

Five cities. One voice.

On April 4, 2026, citizens walked simultaneously in several cities across Québec to bring visibility to the reality of community cats and call for concrete measures to reduce feline overpopulation.

This citizen mobilization aims to support solutions that address the issue at its source and encourage a more coordinated response across Québec.

Organized locally by volunteers, the walks offered short and accessible routes so that everyone could take part.

The second edition of the Great Walk for Our Community Cats will take place in spring 2027. Stay tuned for updates.

At the End of the Walks

Each walk will conclude with a gathering point. This moment will allow participants to meet and highlight the importance of this citizen mobilization.

Space will also be provided for organizations, shelters, and associations that wish to speak with the media or share their experience regarding the situation of community cats.

Participation

The Great Walk is open to everyone.

To follow updates specific to your city or indicate your participation, you may consult the events published on Facebook.

Participants are encouraged to take photos during the walk and share them on social media to help spread awareness of the mobilization across Québec.

Before You Go

Participants are encouraged to bring a sign or message expressing their support for humane solutions for community cats.

For your comfort, it is recommended to wear suitable footwear and dress for spring weather. Bringing water may also be helpful depending on the length of the route.
The walks will take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions.
